How women lead in Asia
Session Description:
How do women lead and succeed in this part of the world? What is unique to working in Asia and how can women hold their own and stand out? Based on her extensive research and insights in her recently published book How Women Work: Fitting In and Standing Out in Asia, Aarti will address these questions.
Through stories and anecdotes, she will highlight the strategies and skills that women exhibit across diverse industries and markets in Asia against the backdrop of cultural nuances and contexts. With the increasing focus worldwide on DEI, this session will help us understand and leverage the learnings and experiences of Asian leaders as they navigate the intricate ties between leadership and culture in Asia.

Aarti Kelshikar is the founder of 3A Consulting LLP in Singapore. She is an intercultural coach and author with over fifteen years of work experience in India, Singapore and the Philippines.
She is a certified facilitator of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and accredited coach of The International Profiler (TIP), relevant frameworks that \ help to assess and develop intercultural effectiveness. Aarti is also a certified executive coach from the international Neuro Leadership group. Since 2008, Aarti has delivered customized intercultural training programmes for senior executives from multinational corporations like Nestlé, Unilever, Proctor and Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, and Texas Instruments.
Aarti has recently published her second book titled How Women Work: Fitting in and Standing Out in Asia. This book observes women leaders through a pan-Asian lens providing insights on leadership and success in Asia. Her first book How India Works: Making Sense of a Complex Corporate Culture is a guide to the cultural nuances and complexities of working with Indians.
She is on the founding board of SIETAR South East Asia (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research).
Before discovering the fascinating world of intercultural coaching, Aarti worked for seven years in the area of securities market compliance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India in Mumbai and with a consulting firm in Singapore. Aarti has a master’s in business administration from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai and a bachelor’s in commerce from Sydenham College in Mumbai.
